Walk to empower - Your weekly practice
Connect. Reflect. Grow.
Stella Ureta-Dombrowsky and I created a space for women of all ages to connect, reflect, and grow. We walk to move our bodies, clear our minds, and have meaningful conversations about the topics that matter: nutrition, money, self-defense & sustainability.
All with one goal: helping you feel stronger, wiser and more empowered in everyday life.
No pressure. No perfection. Just fresh air, real talk, and a supportive group of women.
🗓️ Join us every other week:

Upcoming walks planned till August

Walk to empower

Your weekly practice
Simple tasks to help you apply what you learned. Each task invites you to observe, reflect, or try something new. All in small, doable steps. No pressure, just honest curiosity and a bit of self-awareness.
Week 24 - June 11
My self-defense topic: How politeness affects us as women
During the walk, we explored how speaking up for yourself is a form of self-defence. This can be influenced by our norms and values, which often have deep roots. Shaped by culture, upbringing, and how we’ve learned (or not learned) to set boundaries. Aside from these personal and cultural differences, we as women have been taught to be polite, agreeable, and accommodating which influences how clearly we set our boundaries.
We discussed how saying "no" shouldn't be the start of a long explanation, and that it's never too late to set clear boundaries.
One simple, assertive way to do this is by following a three-step approach:
-
State the behaviour
-
Say how it makes you feel
-
Clearly express your desired outcome (e.g. “stop”, “no”, “please leave”)
Your practice:
Reflect on a recent situation where you felt uncomfortable, pressured, or unsure, big or small.
Ask yourself:
-
Did I say something or stay quiet?
-
Why did I respond that way?
-
Would I like to react differently next time?
-
How can I express myself using the three step approach discussed during the walk?
How to do this:
Copy + paste these questions to a note in your phone or write them in a notebook.
